Borrowing a work from the Artothèque
Borrowing a work from the Artothèque is an easy way of getting acquainted with contemporary art. The lending of works is open to everyone: individuals, businesses, local authorities, schools. More than 4600 works are available at the Limoges Frac- Artothèque and at our satellite partners. You can choose one or several works to display in your home, your workplace, or your classroom.
Terms and Conditions
For individuals
By borrowing a work, you can get to know it at your own pace, and build a special relationship with it. As you borrow work you can explore the whole range of contemporary art. You can borrow a work from the Frac- Artothèque premises in Limoges or from our satellite partners: the International Centre of Art and Landscape on the island of Vassiviere (CIAPV) and the association Peuple & Culture Correze in Tulle.
For businesses and local authorities
The borrowing of works from the Artothèque allows businesses and local authorities to introduce an artistic element to the workplace. In order to borrow one or several works, we invite you to make an appointment with the Frac- Artothèque team in Limoges, at the CIAPV in Vassiviere, or at Peuple & Culture Correze in Tulle. Together we will establish your needs and arrange a visit to our premises in order to assess the possibilities. The frequency of the renewal of works is agreed when the registration is completed and the tariff is provided in a quotation.
For schools
By lending art works to schools, the Frac- Artothèque is taking part in an artistic and cultural educational initiative that aims to encourage pupils’ exposure to contemporary art. We can receive groups of teachers by appointment at the Frac- Artothèque in Limoges, at the premises of the association Peuple & Culture Correze in Tulle, or at the CIAPV on the island of Vassiviere. We will explain all the different inscription options and arrange a visit to your school in order to check how the works can be displayed. The frequency of the renewal of works is fixed when the registration is completed and the tariff is provided in a quotation.

The satellite Artothèque branch at the CIAPV on Vassivière island
Opened in 1999, the satellite Artothèque branch at the International Centre for Art and Landscape is aimed at the local inhabitants of the Plateau de Millevaches. The CIAPV associates the works in the Artothèque collection with their temporary exhibitions and program of activities. Through the carefully chosen selection of works and a dedicated exhibition area, it provides an opportunity to develop an appreciation of contemporary art.

The satellite Artothèque branch at Peuple et Culture Corrèze in Tulle
The association Peuple et Culture Corrèze has been a satellite branch of the Artothèque since 1991. This body runs artists residencies and works on artwork conservation. It undertakes teaching work and promotes culture specifically in rural areas. The satellite Artothèque branch of Peuple et Culture Corrèze in Tulle is particularly active with schools in the Corrèze and Haute- Corrèze.
